Black Death - Photo of Sean Bean and his crew

Christopher Smith (Severance) is directing the story, which features Bean as a knight named Ulric who is scouring the bubonic plague-ravaged countryside for Langiva, a woman who conjures the dead back to life. Carice van Houten is playing Langiva.

I posted the poster for this one back in November last year and it looks as if they've started shooting it. Should be quite a film.

Medieval England has fallen under the shadow of the Black Death. In this apocalyptic world, filled with fear and superstition, a young monk called Osmund is charged in leading a fearsome knight, Ulric and his group of mercenaries to a remote marsh. Their quest is to hunt down a necromancer - someone able to bring the dead back to life. Torn between his love of God and the love of a young woman, Osmund discovers the necromancer, a mysterious beauty called Langiva. After Langiva reveals her Satanic identity and offers Osmund his hearts desire, the horror of his real journey begins.
