You remember don't you. His costume got wrecked so he had to wear something else. Did you ever find yourself wishing you had an action figure of Spidey at that time?

That's right. There is now an action figure of him like that from the new Marvel Legends line that debuted at the San Diego Comic Con. I really think they need to check out the definition of Legend!
Still the ones of Terror (above), The Hood (below) and Deadpool and Black Widow (bottom) figures are pretty good.

Deadpool is Green Lantern

Warner Bros. has settled on Ryan Reynolds as its choice to play Green Lantern. The film is being directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti.

Reynolds and his camp entered negotiations for the part Friday, after the studio held two rounds of screen tests, along with actors Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto. Justin Timberlake also did a screen test.

The studio had holding options on the actors, but, except for Reynolds, those expired Monday. Reynolds’ option would have expired end of day Friday.

THR say that if the deal is completed, it would make Reynolds the only actor to have played heroes for both Marvel and DC. He recently starred in a comic book movie, Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he played "the merc with a mouth" Deadpool. The character is now being developed for a spin-off to which Reynolds is attached. He also played Marvel’s vampire hunter Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity.

Out of Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake, Ryan Reynolds is the best choice for Hal Jordan. Unexpected, but the best choice. Note though that the deal has yet to be fully completed, but it does look very likely. Hopefully, it won't effect the Deadpool movie too much. Luckily they sre characters from different universes plus Deadpool is scarred and masked for most of the time.

Green Lantern - Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds or Justin Timberlake? Who will play Superman though?

The Guardians of the Universe and Warner Bros. are getting closer to a decision as to who will wield the most powerful weapon in the Universe.

That's right Green Lantern may soon be cast

THR have the news that along with director Martin Campbell and producers Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti, Warners has spent the past five months searching for the actor to play Hal Jordan, the hot-shot Air Force pilot who is chosen by a dying alien to be his successor in an intergalactic police force known as the Green Lanterns.

There have been numerous rumours as to who would play Hal - Anton Yelchin, Sam Worthington, Chris Pine, Nathan Fillion (my favourite choice), Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill, Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto.

However, they have now picked three definite maybes and only Bradley Cooper is from the above list. The other two are Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake. The holding deal the studio had on the actors expired Monday, meaning the three are now free to accept other offers.

I am a bit surprised about this threesome as none of them really fit the Hal Jordan I picture. Out of the three Ryan Reynolds is about the closest, but I would much rather see him as Deadpool (I hope that Green Lantern doesn't impact on that).

Bradley Cooper can act, but I just don't see him as Hal.

Justin Timberlake....I just don't know. Stunt casting like that can often harm a big film and I definitely cannot see him as Hal.

Apparently, De Line, Campbell and the studio each had a different favorite among the three finalists, making it difficult to come to a consensus.

Another issue impacting the casting process is the rising budget. "Lantern" is a full-blown space epic that is expected to cost between $150 million and $200 million, if not more. Warners would like to have the production costs at a reasonable level before proceeding.

The studio has scheduled the movie for a December 2010 opening.

I am assuming that one of these three will be Hal Jordan. Sadly the excitement I had for the film has gone down a notch or two.

On a slightly different tangent, there is the slight possibility that Superman, or more likely Clark Kent, may cameo in the Green Lantern film. MTV spoke to scriptwriter Marc Guggenheim.

“Honestly, it changes on a daily basis. Whatever information I gave you today would be obsolete in a week, and maybe come back again in two weeks,” said Guggenheim. ” And even if it wasn’t in flux at the script stage, it would still be constantly in flux because you can film it, put it in the original cut, and eventually it could end up on the editing room floor.”

However, he didn’t deny that the Superman’s alter ego would be making an appearance.

Deadpool will speak to you!

Great news for me and all other Deadpool fans. Ryan Reynolds says Deadpool will break the fourth wall.

“Break the fourth wall? Oh yeah, he’s got to. I want to see him break the Great Wall." Reynolds said while talking to Empire.

“The studio's working on a script and trying to find a director. The main goal is to make sure it stays close to the source material."

What did Reynolds think about the decapitated head at the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine? “That we won’t speak of."

Sounds to me that Reynolds has got the right mindset for the film. I just hope it doesn't get ripped apart by the studio.

Ryan Reynolds is Buried

After playing Deadpool in X-Men Origins:Wolverine and then starring opposite Sandra Bullock in romantic comedy The Proposal, Ryan Reynolds will next be seen in something a little darker.

According to Variety is going to star in Buried, playing a civilian contractor who's kidnapped in Iraq and awakens buried in a coffin in the desert, armed only with a cell phone, a candle and a knife.

Rodrigo Cortes will direct a script by Chris Sparling. Production will begin this month in Barcelona.

The picture will shoot entirely in Spain, which is home to Cortes, best known for directing The Contestant.

Reynolds apparantly took the indie film role to improve his acting range in the movie with a claustrophobic premise, and one in which he holds the screen through most of the picture.

It will be good to see Reynolds in something that is quite different to films he has previously starred in.

Ryan Reynolds talks about the Deadpool we will see

MTV spoke with Ryan Reynolds about the character of Wade Wilson and the fast tracked Deadpool spinoff film

"I love it, because I get to be involved," Reynolds said of reprising his X-Men Origins: Wolverine role. "And I'm such a huge fan of the character."

The actor and 20th Century Fox are looking for a director as well as someone to writer the film.

"I get to be the authentication police, in a weird way," Reynolds stated regarding the storyline. "To their credit - the studio's credit - they want to make an authentic Deadpool movie; they want to make it as close to the source material as possible."

Some of the things that Reynolds and Fox have determined are that "He's going to be the Merc with the Mouth, [we're going to give] all those answers that everyone wants," he offered. "He's going to have the scarred-up face, he's going to be in the suit - and, it's going to be incredible."

"Right now, it's just a question of trying to figure out what is the spine of the story," the actor said when mulling over possible plot points. "Who is the villain? What does Wade and/or Deadpool want?"

"And how do you tell that story? Are we going to see flashbacks to his old life, flash-forwards, present-day?" he added. "We're just trying to figure that stuff out."

I love the fact Reynolds is so passionate about the film, but I seriously doubt he will have much control over the film once it gets the script and director. I would love and hope to see the Deadpool we all know and love on the big screen. It's all going to be determined by who they get to direct it and how much interference the studio do. If Wolverine is anything to go by, the good intentions they set out with could well be watered down.

We shall have to wait and see.

We all know that the post credits of Wolverine had a few different endings. I saw the one with Logan in a Japanese bar drinking to remember. There was another one that apparantly set up the possibility of the Deadpool spin-off.

UPDATED: Deadpool to kick Captain America in the nuts according to Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds has been chatting about the Deadpool film that is spinning off from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

They are still looking for a finished script, but Reynolds says he is involved. However, it looks as if the tone for the film could be just right going by what Reynolds had to say.

Look, I'm into any role in which I get to kick Captain America in the nuts,...Yeah, it's in the works. That's about all I can really say. They're actively hashing [it] out. I'm meeting with them all the time. We're in constant contact, and it's just a matter of breaking the spine of the story and figuring out what it is and who's the villain.

UPDATE: Here's a little more from the interview:

REYNOLDS: We're just trying to get it right. There's so many variables to play. It's tough because when you have a character like Deadpool, to the greatest extent of your power, you want to bring as much authenticity to that character as possible. And by "authenticity," I don't mean that you'd want to make him somebody that you'd have a Starbucks coffee with, I mean that you want to make him as close to the comics as possible. And there's nothing that I wouldn't do to make sure that ends up on film, but sometimes things are out of your control, things that you can't change. But I'm really happy, in these early talks, that the studio is as obsessed with making it as close to the comic book source material as possible. And that's all I really needed to hear. Cuz I will husk-f*@k a herd of cattle to bring Wade Wilson to life as the real deal.

Will there be any real effort to make it fit within the continuity of Wolverine? Or will you just allow it to be its own thing? (This clip shows how Deadpool ended up in the alternate ending of X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

REYNOLDS: Without saying too much, I can't imagine that there's gonna be any tie-in to the Wolverine movie at all.

You've said previously, the Deadpool we glimpse in Wolverine isn't necessarily the character you'd want to play. You've spoken about doing the more self-aware –

REYNOLDS: Absolutely! That's the reason to do it…There's nothing else like that in movies, or comic books, for that matter. I would like to make him self-aware; I'd like to have a bit of a pop-culture air going on throughout the film. I mean, the greatest villain in a Deadpool comic is Deadpool. There's a lot you can do there, but you've gotta ask, "Who's the boss? Who's the guy he's going up against?" But it's breaking the fourth wall; it's including all those things in a way that works, but it's not nearly as hard as it sounds. It can really be done. And people tend to overlook the greatest resource we have, which is the comic book. If it can be done in the comic, it can be done on film in a way that's just as much fun to watch for people who know nothing about the character than for people who are obsessed with the character.

Not to belabor the point, but Deadpool is really the character where, if you're casting Deadpool, you're a smart choice for that. It works with much of what you've done already – the comedy, the drama.

REYNOLDS: Yeah, all those things. And I have ideas for it that I think are right in tune with the tone of that character. I'm dying to see them on film. Literally, dying. So many of the outlets that follow this character are curious what the elements will be, afraid that you won't be disfigured, that you won't wear the mask, and I laugh because there's no way to do this without having the scarring, having the mask, having it all. And it can be done. It's a no-brainer in that sense. You gotta have the character of Deadpool. You don't want to just invent something new and call it Deadpool.

Wouldn't it be great if they could tie Deadpool into the intermingling world of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and the Avengers over at Marvel Studios. Unfortunately as it is being made by Fox this may not happen. What characters to do you want to see in the Deadpool film?

Could Katee Sackhoff be playing Typhoid Mary in a new Daredevil film?

It is possible that Fox may be setting up to reboot the Daredevil franchise, with none other than Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) set to play Typhoid Mary, an enemy and former lover of Daredevil.

Los Angeles-based Golden Apple Comics is reporting that Sackhoff recently came in and grabbed every comic should could find featuring Typhoid Mary.

So we got a little visit in our comic shop last week by Katee Sackhoff, also known as Starbuck for her role on BSG. She proceeded to grab all the Typhoid Mary comics we had and has hopes to get a part for a marvel movie...

I mentioned back in August last year that Jason Statham, with the backing of Frank Miller, wanted to play Daredevil. I could see the Stath as Daredevil (his past as a high diver would help), but not his alter-ego Matt Murdock.

However, Typhoid Mary also cropped up quite a bit in the Deadpool comics. Now we all know that Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool has been given the go ahead for a film so maybe Mary will crop up in there.
I personally feel that Kate as Mary is actually a very good fit. Her time as the messed up character in the short lived Bionic Woman show shows she can act a bit mental and she was always great in Galactica.

Typhoid Mary is an enemy and former lover of Daredevil with low level psionic powers, including telekinesis. She has been employed by organized crime syndicates as an assassin in the past. She is also truly and gravely mentally ill.

Her condition was revealed to have been accidentally caused by a pre-Daredevil Matt Murdock. He had tracked a villain down to the brothel where Mary worked. He attacked the man, but to his surprise, the girls working there came at him. Panicking, he lashed out, knocking Mary out the window. It was at this moment Mary became Typhoid Mary, vowing no man would ever hurt her again. In later appearances, however, she would imply that she was a victim of child abuse.

Suffering from dissociative identity disorder, Mary Walker has two other abnormal personalities in addition to her seemingly healthy one. Her "Mary" personality is a timid, quiet, pacifist; her "Typhoid" personality is adventurous, lustful, and violent; and her "Bloody Mary" persona is brutal, sadistic, and hates all men. Mary once claimed that there was a fourth personality, who is 'lost,' but it has not since been mentioned. Aside from highly developed martial arts skills, Walker also possesses telekinetic powers and, more dangerously, pyrokinesis, the ability to set people or objects in her immediate vicinity aflame. -Wikipedia

Of course this is all very much a rumour.

Deadpool in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

The video game sequel was looking good. Now that I've seen Deadpool in action it is looking even gooderer...I know that's not a word, but that doesn't matter. It is Deadpool doing Deadpool things. I hope the Ryan Reynolds film has cool stuff like the trailer below shows.

Apparantly the game follows the Civil War storyline from the Marvel Universe. That involved the Heroes having to register to continure being Heroes. Iron Man was for it, Captain America was against it.

Deadpool movie is good to go

Fantastic news about fans of the Merc with a Mouth - that includes me (the image above is via Geek Tyrant).

Twentieth Century Fox has begun development on Deadpool, an "X-Men" spinoff that will be crafted as a star vehicle for Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The character is one of the most popular in Marvel Comics' X-Men universe. Deadpool is Wade Wilson, a mercenary who, dying of cancer, submits himself to the Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and emerges as an indestructible semi-sane anti-hero.

Reynolds seemed destined to play the character. In one reference in the Marvel Comics, Deadpool is described as a mix between "a Shar Pei and Ryan Reynolds."

In one of the "Easter egg" endings of "Wolverine," Deadpool is seen rising from the rubble and whispering "Shhh" to audiences. The Deadpool we saw in the film is not quite like the one we saw at the end of the Wolvie film.

The film will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel.

According to a source close to Fox, the Deadpool spin-off film “a complete exploration of this unique character."

Fox is also in the formative stages of a "Wolverine" sequel that will encompass the samurai storyline that was hinted at as Wolverine sat in a bar in Japan as the film concluded.

Separately, Fox is developing Magneto, a film about the X-Men villain with a script by Shelton Turner, and X-Men: First Class, which Josh Schwartz is penning.

Great news about the Deadpool film (Check out my review of the Wolverine movie). I really hope they keep it close to the comic book character. I want to see him break the fourth wall and know he is just a comic book movie character. What do you want to see in a Deadpool film?

The many endings of Wolverine - Deadpool and Spoilers ahoy!

As you know the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film has a number of different endings after the end credits (check out my review). io9 have tracked them down and they are as follows.

Wolverine ending via Comic Book Movie - I don't know whether this is in fact true or not but in the cinema that I saw this film in after about 30 seconds of credits there was a scene with Stryker walking down a road and being stopped by several soldiers in regards to him killing a general earlier in the film. After the entire credits there is then the scene that I had previously heard about, of Wolverine sitting in a bar and speaking in Japanese saying that he is drinking to remember

Deadpool ending - The Slumz - Basically they zoom in on the rubble of the destroyed nuclear plant. We see Deadpools hand out of the rumble and then we see his head on the floor. We then see a guy in a long black over coat with his hood up, kneel down and pick up the head. We then hear dialogue as the camera pans around, " who the hell are you supposed to be?" and as it pans around we see its Wade Wilson. (Ryan Reynolds). then the screen fades to black. BTW its after the credits.

So Wade is alive and well... Weapon XI was a Wade Clone.... DEADPOOL lives.

This last description may not be totally correct though as Steve Zagar left this comment on the io9 post:

I work at a theater and just screened it. I got the Deadpool ending. No one in a black coat. The hand moves and we see that "Weapon XI's" head is sitting there and his mouth is now open and he says. "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

I saw the first ending and thought it was okay. Nice to see Logan in Japan. As for the Deadpool ending it sounds as if the studios realised that Deadpool is hugely popular and they had to dig themselves out of the ending they had originally made. Getting Ryan Reynolds in for re-shoots could well have been to set this up. Seems a bit odd that they'd introduce cloning technology here without any previous reference which makes it seem like a last minute add on.

If it is just Deadpool's head saying "shhh" then I assume they are saying his hyper healing facter has kicked in and he'll reattach his head and then Deadpool will kick off. I don't think he's ever had his head cut off in the comic book but he does take an awful lot of punishment so it is not that big a stretch and it would explain him getting the healing factor and his disfigurement without the whole cancer side of things being involved. Plus it would go a hell of a way to tip into total madness.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2009 - Movie Review

This review by the all powerful, all mighty, full of the awesome Live for Films...that's me.

Last night my Wife and I went to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I'm a long time comic book geek and have always enjoyed the adventures of Marvel's favourite mutant. We both enjoyed the X-Men films. I thought the second was the best and the third the weakest, but they never really capture Wolverine in his true berserker state that we have seen so many times in the comic.

How did Wolverine's solo film manage then? It does have its flaws (some pretty big flaws actually) but is a most enjoyable blockbuster film nonetheless. Apologies if this review skips around a bit, but that's how I roll and also how the film progresses.

As it started up we see a young boy ill in bed being tended by his father (the guy who played Shane in Neighbours) while another young lad with bad nails looks on. Bad things happen, claws pop and a howl to the skies puts the young Wolvie and Sabretooth on the run.

During the build up to the film I had been really excited seeing photos of Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber in character during the Civil War, the two World Wars and the Vietnam War. Schreiber is excellent as Sabretooth - menacing, psychotic and just plain nasty. You'll be pleased to know that his bounding lope type thing you see briefly in the trailer is a lot better and more convincing in the final film.

I thought they would spend a bit of time developing the relationship between the two feral mutants but instead there is a mad dash through the years during the Watchmen inspired opening credits. Seeing the extras and scale of these war scenes in photos and snippets shows that an awful lot of the budget went into these scenes but they are gone within the first few minutes, yet they have the most realistic feel compared to the rest of the film. Almost as if they blew the cash early on and then went "oops, we better reel it in a bit".

This leads to one of the main problems with the film. It all feels studio bound. Even with scenes that are outside it all feels like a set. Plus some dodgy green screen (the bits with Logan and Silver Fox in the van) and CG effects (the claws in the bathroom scene, and the de-aging of a character at the end) really pull you out of the movie. The recent leaking of the film onto the internet a few weeks ago was said to just be a workprint copy with unfinished effects. If that was the case they should have spent a little longer on them.

As with the dash through the years at the start of the film we are rushed through pretty much everything else. We never really get a chance to savour the moment and wallow in our comic book memories. The most time in one place is up in the Canadian Rockies where Logan spends his time with Kayla Silverfox (Lynn Collins).

After the credits Wolvie and Sabretooth are inducted into the Weapon X program by Stryker (Danny Huston - who uses the same speech pattern as Brian Cox which adds a nice bit of continuity), then we cut to them on a plane with Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), Bolt (Dominic Monaghan), Wraith (Will.i.am), Agent Zero (Daniel Henney), and Frederick J Dukes (Kevin Durand). Unlike the film I'll spend a bit more time talking about the pack of Mercs. There is some good banter between them and the mission we see gives them all a chance to shine. All are good although Agent Zero's actions, along with the later Gambit scenes, have some shoddy wire-work which again pulls you out of the film. Durand and Monaghan do a little but not a lot.

It is Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson who truly shines. He basically does the same schtick he did in Van Wilder and Blade Trinity, but he does it so well and it is ramped all the way up to 11 in this film. He is the best thing in the early scenes and it is a shame we only get to see him and, to a lesser extent, the rest for such a short amount of time. It would have been great to see them on a couple more missions to get a feel for them working as a team.

It is this rushing through the film that makes me feel the studio had more to say on the matter than the director, Gavin Hood. The whole film could have done with being another 20 or 30 minutes longer.

However, this is a Wolverine film and Hugh Jackman is great in the role. He's been doing it for a few years now so he is very comfortable in the skin of Logan. The weird thing is that he doesn't seem to have aged a day since he first appeared in X-Men back in 2000. Hugh is funny, scary, angry and confused at various points of the film and he acts his socks off. There are a few points in the film where you think he is going to pop a blood vessel as he is so worked up. The one fault with him though is that we once again, never really get to see him go fully berserk and become the scary beast he can be in the comic. I thought we would see this in his escape from the Weapon X compound, but he gets out of the tank (fully naked to the delight of my Wife) kills a couple of guards and is then out and away. I would have liked this to last a little longer and have us follow a few guards or something getting picked off from the shadows. The point I'm getting at is that they never really make Wolverine scary. I know that they are aiming for a younger market, but a few scenes to show just how scary it would be to face him or be to know he is hunting you would have been great.

Apart from Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool the other big name Mutant in the film is Gambit (Taylor Kitsch). He is okay, but I never really felt he was as cool as the character could sometimes be in the comic and some of the card effects were just not up to scratch. Just before he sits down with Gambit there is a pleasing nod to the comic book cliche of the heroes fighting first before teaming up and those kind of things really float my boat. There are a few others throughout the film - Holding a loved one while screaming "Noooooo!!!" to the heavens and calling people "Old Friend". If you are a long time comic book reader then you'll know what I am getting at and I felt they really added to the whole comic bookiness of the whole thing. I also liked the little nod to Superman with the Ma and Pa Kent types helping Logan.

The final showdown on the Island was good, although I kept saying "Where are all the guards" and it was nice to see lots of familiat Mutants as kids. The final showdown with Deadpool, Logan and Sabretooth doing his best impression of the Millenium Falcon at the end of A New Hope is pretty good, but very short. I still can't see how they will take the Deadpool from this film and marry it with the Deadpool from the comic if they decide to make a spin-off from the spin-off. I would have loved for the proper Deadpool to have been the one they were fighting with lots of chances for Ryan Reynolds to do his funny dialogue thing he does so well.

Reading back through this it does sound as if I did not like the film. It's not a Dark Knight or Iron Man, but I really did enjoy it. Like many of these kind of films you can pull them apart if you look too closely at it, but if you enjoy comic book movies then just sit back and let Hugh do his thing. Well worth seeing on the big screen. Don't forget to wait through all of the credits for the last little bit - I got the Japan ending (more news on the different endings here). I give it 7 out of 10 and my Wife would give it 8 as she said she would give Hugh Jackman one......Hold on a minute...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Different endings depending upon where you see it?

The Hugh Jackman Wolverine film has had lots of press lately. First there was the "Who is the Mutant with the weird mouth?" (that one was cleared up), then there was Hugh presenting the Oscars, followed by "Who let the work print out of the bag?" fiasco.

Now the always excellent Filmstalker has the news that the film you see in the cinema may have become a Fighting Fantasy Choose Your Own Adventure type of film and have a slightly different ending or post credit bit (the Nick Fury bit at the end of Iron Man is a good example of this) depending upon which cinema you see it in.

Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. From a marketing point of view it could help promote multiple viewings of the film, but then there is no guarantee you'd get to see another ending if you saw it at a different cinema.

Whatever you views, the point that I and many other sites have mentioned it show that the marketing aspect of it works and that any news is good news for the box office of old Logan and friends.

Ninja - That's all you need to know.

Scott Adkins is the actor / stuntman / martial artist who is portraying Deadpool / Weapon XI (along with Ryan Reynolds of course) in the forthcoming film X-Men Origins: Wolverine - I mentioned that a while back. He has starred in The Bourne Ultimatum, Unleashed (Danny the Dog), The Medallion, The Pink Panther, Hollyoaks and Holby City. He gets around. That's him below.
Now his time has come to play the lead in a film.

• Will it be a romantic comedy?
• Maybe a film looking into the depths of one man's soul?
• Or could it be a film where he plays a kick-ass Ninja?

Pick one of those three and see if you are right.
You guessed it. Option 3. He will be starring in Isaac Florentine's upcoming martial arts extravaganza, Ninja. What's not to love about that title.
A westerner named Casey (Adkins), studying Ninjutsu in Japan, is asked by the Sensei to return to New York to protect the legendary Yoroi Bitsu, an armored chest that contains the weapons of the last Koga Ninja.
Great synopsis as well. Tells you everything you need to know. Quiet Earth dug up the photos on this post (they have a few more so check them out as well) and they show that it will look lovely as well as having kick-ass Ninja action.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine has leaked onto the Web.

Pity the poor mutant known as Wolverine. He gets adamantium painfully bonded to his skeleton, his memory ripped to shreds, there is never a time to rest due to the numerous appearances in pretty much every comic book going. Things were looking up with his very own film X-Men Origins: Wolverine where the man known as Hugh Jackman would portray him through the years. Sure there were lots of other mutants involved with the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool getting the spotlight in recent months, but at least it would mean people would get to see the old Canucklehead on the big screen.

Yep, things were looking up...until some blurt leaked a near DVD quality workprint of the film online. A month before the release date. That is quite a major security leak.

Now at first you may be thinking, "Cool, go, go, gadget BitComet!" However, think about it. Almost the completed version, minus a few effects here and a lack of reshoots there (the 106 minute runtime is almost 20 minutes shorter than the final cut), has been leaked onto the web and it looks like it will be a tough one to trace. If you are a fan of Wolverine and comic book movies then you want to see it as soon as possible, yet if we all go around downloading it (which we all know is illegal) and watching it then this could have a major knock on effect at the box office which could result in no sequel as the first did not make enough money.

That is a worst case scenario. As it is not the finished cut it could also result in bad word of mouth which again impacts the box office.

On the other hand, films like Taken, that have been out over here for months, make their way online yet the their box office take in the US is still nice and healthy.

It is a tricky one isn't it. For me, I want to see the Wolverine film on the big screen with the full cut. Even if it is not a great film, going to see it at the cinema makes it more likely that we will see a sequel (hopefully set in Japan or showing that Mark Millar storyline when Logan is brainwashed by HYDRA and attacks the heroes) and, even better, a proper Deadpool film.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - New photos of Wolverine, Deadpool and Sabretooth

XMenFilms.net had these new photos (as well as a few more) for the new Wolverine film. They show Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson / Deadpool) and Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth).
The film is due out on 1st May.
