More John Carter of Mars casting news

News last week said the John Carter of Mars film adaption was going to start shooting soon with Andrew Stanton (WALL=E) at the helm. Then it turned out that Taylor Kitsch (Gambit in Wolverine) had been cast as Carter and Lynn Collins (Silverfox in Wolverine) as the Martian Princess Dejah Thoris.

During a recent discussion with Jeffrey Lyons on Reel Talk Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3, Sideways) let it be known that he is also going to be in John Carter of Mars.

"I probably am going to do a huge science fiction drama at Disney called John Carter of Mars in the spring and that's a very dramatic role." Church stated.

Check out the full interview as it's a good one and he also chats about Spider-Man and his other films.

I think Thomas Haden Church is a pretty cool actor and has one of those faces that will fit quite well with this film. Any idea who he could be playing in the film? To be honest I would picture him more as the character of John Carter.
