Mark Strong (of, amongst others, Stardust fame) was on the Steve Wright Radio 2 show this afternoon talking about the new RocknRolla movie by Guy Ritchie.
While in conversation he also talked about the up and coming Sherlock Holmes movie Guy Ritchie is doing with Robert Downey Jr in the lead role. Strong will be playing the bad guy in this one (nothing on IMDB about the cast just yet other than Downey), with a brief glimpse of Professor James Moriarty (potentially Russel Crowe from recent rumours). We originally mentioned Mark Strong starring as the bad guy on 19th August.
The plan is for there to be a 3 movie story arc/series (or franchise as the movie industry horribly put it) but it will all depend on how the first one does at the box office to determine if 2 & 3 will be made. Moriarty will become a key player in the later movies.
Check out the BBC iPlayer and listen again to the interview (the interview was about 1:45 into the show).
