Waltz with Bashir - Trailer

WALTZ WITH BASHIR is an extraordinary animated documentary that offers a potent and necessarily harrowing portrait of the futility of war. An old friend tells director Folman about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 dogs. The two men conclude that there is a connection between the dream and their mission with the Israeli army in the first Lebanon War of the early Eighties. Ari is surprised that he cannot remember a thing about that period of his life. He decides to interview old friends and comrades to discover the truth about that time and about himself. As he delves deeper, his memory begins to creep back in surreal images. Based on a true story, this is a film of undiluted power.

Director: Ari Folman Origin: France, Germany, Israel Year: 2008
