Star Wars - Video from 1976 showing the Millenium Falcon being built

David Berry posted a home movie reel shot during the construction and second-unit filming of Star Wars models (i.e., Millenium Falcon, Empire fighters) inside a San Fernando Valley warehouse in 1976.

So far it is not embeddable but it is well worth having a look at the early days of Star Wars, back when effects were built rather than rendered.

Thanks to Jeffrey Wells for pointing it out.

Surrogates - Featurette showing Bruce Willis as a robot

Surrogates shows a world where people never leave their homes, interacting in the real world through surrogate robots which they can get made to look like anything they want to. It's a world without consequence, until two people die when their surrogates are "killed".

Bruce Willis plays a policeman who starts to investigate the ongoing murders using his own surrogate, until it comes time for him to leave his house and investigate in the real world.

Cargo - What's in those strange boxes?

Cargo is a Swiss sci-fi thriller that looks rather nice. The synopsis sounds a little like Pandorum, but oit has a slightly different feel to it. Quiet Earth have a few photos from the film.

Since the biosphere collapsed on Earth most of humanity lives in space, inhabiting hopelessly overcrowded space stations. The only hope to escape from the chaos is RHER: A paradise-planet 5 light-years from Earth.

The story of CARGO takes place on rusty space-freighter KASSANDRA on its way to Station 42. The young medic LAURA is the only one awake on board while the rest of the crew lies frozen in hibernation sleep. Only in 4 months will Laura's shift be over. During her daily patrols, through the eerily empty ship, LAURA begins to get the feeling that she is not alone on-board. A discovery mission in the dark and ice-cold cargo hold ends in catastrophe. The remainder of the crew is awakened. A cat and mouse game begins in which nothing is what it seems. What lies hidden in the strange freight containers and who, or what, is also on-board?

The below video shows some footage with completed FX, the sets, costumes and lots more behind the scenes type stuff. All in all it looks good.
