Michelle Rodriguez spills some great big spoilers on Avatar and Fast & Furious

Anytime you’ve got a wild, independent, free-spirited woman, she has to die at the end of the movie, unless it’s a movie that’s so sci-fi that it can’t be real, like Tomb Raider. Me? I die in every film that I’m in this year. They’re just gonna have to keep on killing me. I’ll keep coming back, until they realize what’s hot and make flicks for bitches like me.Why did you have to go and say that Michelle?

Fast & Furious vs Addictive TV - Vin Deisel remixed
Remixing fast and furiously for Universal, Addictive TV were asked to remix the new Vin Diesel blockbuster "Fast & Furious". Burning rubber, skids and squealing tyres galore - this movie was made for remixing...!
Slamming the pedal-to-the-metal, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-team for the ultimate chapter of the movies built on speed. Heading back to LA where it all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to burn rubber, illegally race each other in exotic cars through the mean streets of Los Angeles, and floor them across the Mexican desert in this high-octane action-thriller.

The Chronicles of Riddick will be down and dirty.

The film will have a capped budget of around $35 million.
Expect an official announcement about the new film after FAST & FURIOUS opens big on April 3.
Not sure how they will tie it into the end of The Chronicles of Riddick where he is sat as the ruler of the Necrowotsits.
I do like the fact they will be taking the character back to basics.

Fast & Furious
Universal Pictures teamed with legendary graffiti artist Mister Cartoon to create an original, one-of-a-kind billboard for the upcoming action-thriller Fast & Furious. Assisted by artists Revok and Toomer. Check out the incredible video featurette that captures the step-by-step process it took for Mister Cartoon, Revok, and Toomer to create the stunning Fast & Furious billboard.
Born and raised in L.A., Mister Cartoon began his career as a graffiti artist in the 1980s. Cartoon went on to gain notoriety for his unique tattoos, album cover designs, logos, advertisements and custom lowrider car murals. His richly detailed, hand-rendered designs are inspired by the style of tattoos that originated in the hard streets of 1970s L.A. Cartoon’s art embodies the true soul of L.A. street culture and has taken the fine line, black and grey tattoo culture to the masses. Cartoon’s unique position within the art world helps bridge the gap between corporate America and L.A. street culture.

Michelle Rodriguez talks about James Cameron's Avatar

That guy is so amazing. He thinks in 12 dimensions at all times. That’s what I love about him. You could sit there and you could talk for hours about the advancements in molecular science or you could sit there and you can talk about mythology and story building, character building. You could talk about cameras, the history of film, the history of Russia. You could talk about flying to another planet. You could talk about space research. You could talk about underwater adventures. You could talk about how he constructed special technology for underwater adventures. Or you could sit there and talk to him about how he developed his own fricking cameras with his brother. I mean, like, this guy is a genius.
So, you’re working with a golf ball or you’re working with an “X” on a green wall and you’re just hoping that you’ve really hit your mark interacting with this. You’re just kind of trying to remember as much of your make-believe time at the age of 5 as you possibly could to get you through it. But, with this technology that he’s got, you just go there and you see what you’re interacting with right there because it’s a mixture of live 3D footage, the props on the set, and the virtual world that he spent God knows how long creating. It’s fucking amazing. It’s hardcore. I can’t even imagine anything bigger.
The more I hear about this film the more intrigued I get. I really want to see some footage from it. Thanks to Pam for giving me the heads up on this interview.

USA Network and Universal in 9-Figure Film Deal
USA Network inked a nine-figure deal for the basic cable and broadcast premiere rights to two dozen of Universal Pictures' films, including Will Ferrell-led Land of the Lost and Borat sequel Bruno.
The deal, which covers mostly pre-buys of theatricals to be released throughout 2009, could be worth north of $200 million, depending on how the titles perform at the box office. If the slate were to underperform in theaters, the package would cost USA about half that.
Cable deals for theatricals are generally paid on a 10%-13% sliding scale of box office returns, depending on performance. This deal is constructed that way, sources say.
Despite massive job losses nationwide in January 2009, the U.S. box office tally was the best ever for a January: $1.030 billion, according to Media by Numbers. The returns marked a 19% year-to-year increase over 2008.
What's more, basic cable networks across the board rely heavily on theatricals during the daytime and on weekends, and use them as a platform to lead viewers into original programming, the only genre that tends to outperform theatricals in cable ratings.
“We knew we would have to go in aggressively and pay what it takes to get [the films], and we knew what they wanted to make from it,” says Jane Blaney, executive VP of programming, acquisitions and scheduling for USA.
FX bought the rights to much of Universal's 2008 slate last year in what the studio claimed was a “groundbreaking deal.” That agreement covered 15 films, and was estimated to be worth about $100 million when it was signed.
In addition to Land of the Lost and Bruno, the USA agreement includes State of Play, with Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe; Duplicity, starring Julia Roberts and Clive Owen; Fast & Furious, with Vin Diesel; Public Enemies, with Johnny Depp; Funny People, with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen; The Wolfman, starring Benicio Del Toro; and already released titles such as Milk and Frost/Nixon. Other movies in the package star Philip Seymour Hoffman, Matt Damon and Jennifer Aniston.
“This is one of the biggest slate deals that you would see, across the board in term of volume,” says Frances Manfredi, executive VP and general sales manager for cable and non-theatrical sales at NBC Universal Television Distribution. “USA put a killer deal on the table, they were very aggressive, and very wisely aggressive. We think this will serve them very well.”
USA will get to air some of the movies starting in 2010, with most heading to the network in 2011, following a premium cable window on HBO.
