Then along game the video game Escape from Butcher Bay. A great FPS for the X-Box that breathed new life into the franchise. This game has been revamped for the X-Box 360 and is due out soon under the name The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.
That's not all. Last August Vin Diesel said that there would be two more Riddick films. Now, in an interview about the Dark Athena game with GameSpot, Diesel has said a bit more about the new film.
"It is underway and I almost think it's a coincidence that we haven't heard anything, that there hasn't been a lot of public stuff on the Riddick movie"
He goes on to confirm that David Twohy is finishing up the script and once it's ready, they'll take the next steps.
Are you excited for a new Chronicles of Riddick film? What did you think of the previous films and what would you like to see in the new one? Should it carry on from the first Chronicles or tell a totally new story?

Riddick is a favorite. It would be very cool if he got another shot on the screen. I wasn't super impressed with Chronicles, but I didn't think it was terrible. Honestly, I think they were given too much money, and didn't know how to spend it. Keep low budget, and do more Pitch Black.
