Human Centipede - All kinds of wrong but long live the new flesh

You know what, you really cannot make this stuff up can you. I thought it was a joke at first but the pictures show it is being made.

Outside the more outré work of Takashi Miike and David Cronenberg, you won't have seen anything quite like Dutch avant-garde artist Tom Six' totally bizarre off-the-wall oddity. Internationally respected Siamese twin surgeon Dr. Josef Heiter has a demented vision for mankind's future existence. He wants to remove human beings' kneecaps so they have to exist on all fours and then surgically graft them mouth-to-anus to form a centipede chain. When two stranded female Americans arrive at his luxury home-cum-hospital looking for help, his long-gestating plan swiftly moves into chilling action with a shocking force. Kidnapping a third Japanese male tourist he begins the tissue matches, teeth removal and buttock moulding to create his triplet creature… The First Sequence in Six's intended trilogy features truly unforgettable imagery, clinically dazzling direction and a so-far-round-the-bend mad doctor performance from German superstar Dieter Laser you'll scream. Behold the grotesque New Flesh. If you dare!

What do you think of that concept? It's okay if you feel a little bit sick and apologies for sharing. It is one of those things that once you've read about it you have to tell someone else - lucky for you I have this web site :)

Tracing Shadows - Trailer for Ninja comedy

It is the Ming Dynasty and Chaos reigns. There are many Kung-fu masters from different regions that are fighting ruthlessly for a mysterious treasure map hidden inside the Ming palace. Amidst such combat, the map unexpectedly disappeared.

On the surface, the five masters are friendly loving neighbours however they are actually very cunning and competitive trying to outdo each other to be the first to locate the map. One day their wealthy landlord reveals that he possesses the map which sparks an explosive chain of events in this once small and ordinary village.

Humpday - Poster

This supposedly went down very well at the Sundance film festival. It is a comedy directed by Lynn Shelton starring Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard.

Humpday tells the story of two straight college friends who reunite after years apart, fall back into their old habit of competing in increasingly outrageous dares in order to one-up each other, and, at the end of a wild night out, challenge themselves to have sex together in a gay porno for an art film contest.

Not one to watch with your parents then!

The Ugly Truth - New trailer for Butler / Heigl slasher film...okay it's a romantic comedy

Here is another trailer for the astonishingly original romantic comedy starring Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl. Will they? Won't they? You'd have to have never seen a movie or breathed air to not know the outcome of this one. Still, I do like both actors in this so I'll probably end up seeing it.

A romantically challenged morning show producer is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love.

The Three Stooges could almost be Penn, Carrey and del Toro

MGM and the Farrelly brothers are closing in on their cast for "The Three Stooges."

Studio has set Sean Penn to play Larry, and negotiations are underway with Jim Carrey to play Curly, with the actor already making plans to gain 40 pounds to approximate the physical dimensions of Jerome "Curly" Howard.

The studio is zeroing in on Benicio Del Toro to play Moe.

The film is not a biopic, but rather a comedy built around the antics of the three characters that Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Howard played in the Columbia Pictures shorts.

The quest by the Peter and Bobby Farrelly to harness the project spans more than a decade and three studios. They first tried at Columbia, again at Warner Bros., and finally at MGM, where Worldwide Motion Picture Group chairman Mary Parent championed the cause and bought the WB-owned scripts and made a deal with Stooges rights holders C3.

Production will begin in early fall for a release sometime in 2010. The Farrellys, who wrote the script, are producing with their Conundrum partner Bradley Thomas, and Charlie Wessler.

The project will get underway after Penn completes the Asger Leth-directed Universal/Imagine Entertainment drama "Cartel." He hasn't done a comedy since the 1989 laffer "We're No Angels."

The Farrellys have long had their eyes on Del Toro to play Moe. Del Toro, who's coming off "Che," showed comic chops in the Guy Ritchie-directed "Snatch."

The surprise is the emergence of Carrey to play Curly. Howard established the character as a seminal physical comedian, from the first time he appeared in the first Stooges short in 1934 until he suffered a stroke on the set in 1946.

Are you excited about this project? Do you think the three actors are the best choice for the Stooges?

Red Dwarf - Viral ad for Easter specials

The starting place for this new workplace timewaster is Lister's Coming Home, which currently shows a postcard (shown above) written by Dwarf lead character Dave Lister that apparently hints at the plot for the new mini-series ("How did we get separated on 21st Century Earth?") and leads to Scanning Jupiter, a faux scientific site that includes messages from the other cast members and access to Red Dwarf's ship's log... which offers up this video

This includes some footage from the new stuff and interviews with the cast.

I can't wait to see the boys from the Dwarf back on the small screen. More info over at io9.

Armando Iannucci's In the Loop -Trailer featuring many characters from The Thick of It

Britain and America; friends and allies as far back as anyone can remember. Both the US President and UK Prime Minister fancy a war but not everyone agrees including US Assistant Secretary for Diplomacy, US Army General (James Gandolfini) and a floundering British Minister Simon Foster (Tom Hollander). When Foster accidentally announces on national TV that ‘war is unforeseeable,’ the British government is sent into a spiral of chaos and spin propagated by verbosely aggressive Director of Communications, Malcom Tucker (Peter Capaldi). Foster attempts to neutralise his ‘unforeseeable’ comment by telling the British public to prepare to ‘climb the mountain of conflict’ but soon finds himself bundled off to Washington on a fact-finder where he becomes both a pawn for the secret war committee and a poster-boy for the General and the Assistant Secretary for Diplomacy’s anti-war campaign.

Also starring Steve Coogan and Gina McKee

Arthur's Lore - King Arthur is back

Arthur's Lore is a short film made by ex neurosurgeons (or so they say) Matt and Vince. As well as the duo, Amelia Tyler stars as The Lady in the Bath.

Arthur is as surprised as anyone to learn he's the reincarnation of KING Arthur - but there's no time to contemplate as the forces of dark lore are active once again and only one person can stop them.

Netherbeast Incorporated - A vampire tale set in modern day corporate America

This film from 2007 totally slipped under my radar until a friend in worked mentioned it. I like most of the people starring in it and it looks kind of cool from the teaser trailer and clip below.

An offbeat hilarious comedy with a quirky twist on the vampire tale set in modern day corporate America. Employees of Berm-Tech Industries, Inc. have kept the family secret for a long time. For years it has been business as usual, until the top vampire in charge contracts a dreaded disease, becomes senile forgetting that he s a vampire and starts killing off other vampire colleagues. A human efficiency expert and "Dead Mike's" replacement are invited to work at Berm-Tech but soon they discover that some of their associates are not what they appear to be.

Starring Darrell Hammond (SNL), Judd Nelson (Breakfast Club/Suddenly Susan), Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall/News Radio), Jason Mewes (Clerks 1&2/Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back), Steve Burns (Blue Clues),Amy Davidson (8 Simple Rules) and Robert Wagner (AustinPowers/Hart to Hart).

What do you make of that then?
