let me preface my comment by saying i know nothing about this race to climb the north face of the eiger...but based on the trailer...JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS? what are they thinking? the trailer shows great promise, but unless there's a surprise happy ending hiding in there somewhere, i think it's too dark for the holiday season.
I've read quite a bit about the true story of this, and seen a documentary about it if i'm not mistaken. If the movie keeps relatively faithful it will be one hell of a dramatic movie. What those guys went through is absolutely unbelievable. This is a pre-WW2 "Touching the Void"!
(Pamela, you are probably right, not a cheery holiday story)
