These are not the shoes you are looking for - Cool Star Wars Adidas Originals

Trainers, sneakers, pumps, whatever you want to call them these are a nice fusion between Star Wars and Adidas. I do love the packaging on them. The first releases are scheduled for Spring/Summer 2010 at select retailers as well as adidas Originals Stores worldwide

"The Spring/Summer 2010 collection fuses iconic STAR WARS™ characters and scenes with classic adidas Originals footwear and apparel silhouettes. Inspired by the galactic saga, the STAR WARS™ collection consists of limited edition as well as mass distribution footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and kids. Classic adidas Originals track tops and several legendary sneaker styles are represented with characters and scenes from the epic saga in reinterpreted versions. Expect to see Darth Vader and Stormtrooper graphics on select iconic Originals styles. Other key STAR WARS™ characters and memorable moments from the films will also be represented in innovative ways."

I reckon a Boba Fett pair would be great.

Saucy Star Wars and Star Trek corsets

Here are a few items of clothing worn by models who look so happy to be wearing them. You can see the joy emanating from them....or they could be just acting moody.

The Star Trek corsets cost $200 and the Star Wars models (which include the rest of the costumes), are $500 (trooper) and $600 (Vader).

Avatar - J J Abrams was wearing parts of the power suits...sort of.

As well as mentioning a possible Cloverfield 2 at the Star Trek panel at Wondercon, J J Abrams clothing was also of interest.

Abrams turned up on stage in a t-shirt related to James Cameron's upcoming top-secret Avatar project which Market Saw later worked out to be "an exploded parts schematic of the Power Suits worn by the characters in the film".

Quint over at AICN got the pics of the t-shirt (one of which is above) along with a description of the new "Star Trek" trailer which premiered at the con and should go online in about a week.

Robocop Bitches Leave Mens T-Shirt

Ah, Kurtwood Smith. For all your hilarious retorts on "That '70s Show" and creepy guest appearances on "Medium," you'll always be the guy who horrifically maimed Robocop to me. And who can forget that time you blew up Miguel Ferrer's house? Good times. If you're the kind of guy who likes all prostitutes to leave the building before executing a contract kill on their john, this is the shirt for you. Image is iron-on heat transfer, and comes on a black or white T-shirt.

Spoilt T-Shirt - Careful there be spoilers ahead

Just seen this cool T-Shirt on /film. Designed by Oliver Moss, it has 18 major spoilers from some of the biggest films ever and it looks cool. I think this will sell out pretty quick (I went to buy one but they only accept credit cards. Maestro was no good which was a shame - if anyone is in a giving mood and wants to buy me one I'll have a t-shirt in extra large). If you want to get a t-shirt or hoody with the design they can be found on Threadless.

Gears of War - Real Armour and Guns for sale (well copies from the game)

Nightmare Armour Studios have put together these rather good costumes and weapons from the Gears of War game.
If you want to play dress up as your favourite Locust basher then head on over here to pick up a gun. It will cost you about $950 dollars.
It all looks pretty cool, but the main guy in the photos looks a little bit...you know. Not quite right in the head...a little too much into it.
What do you think of them? If you have the money would you buy one?

Cool T-Shirt - Hello My Name is Inigo Montoya....

Absolute genius. It has a generic name badge with the name of "Inigo Montoya" filled in and the caption "...you killed my father, prepare to die". From The Princess Bride. Brilliant. You can buy it from 80s Tees for $20.

Cool Spider Jerusalem T-Shirt

I like this T-Shirt. Excellent image of the brilliant Spider Jerusalem from the Warren Ellis comic Transmetropolitan. I saw it here and think I'll have a go at doing one myself.

The guy wearing it, Brandon Cyphered, made it himself and this is what he says about the process:

It's a stencil using fabric paint (for the lenses) over a bleach-job using this stuff called "discharge paste," which does amazing bleach effects without harming the fabric and has the worst name EVAR

I used discharge paste. From the website, "a reducing agent for safely removing color from natural fibers, and is even safe on silk. It removes most fiber reactive dyes, direct dyes, and acid dyes. It is thick enough to block print, brush it on, screen it on, stencil it on, etc. You can apply the paste to your fabric, let it dry and steam it with a steam iron or steam in a steamer for 10 minutes or so, until it stops discharging."

It's good shit -- easy to work with, not caustic, and produces GREAT results. I got that nice gray tone to Spider's figure because the shirt I used is a 50/50 cotton/poly blend, and discharge paste only works on natural fibers; if it's been 100% cotton I would've gotten that orange color you always get from bleach on cotton.

DIY Planet of the Apes Tunic

This from Boing Boing:

Steve Lodefink, one of the most creative and versatile DIYers I know, made this beautiful Planet of the Apes tunic from scratch. He's posting his build notes on his Finkbuilt blog.

I started working on the costume shortly after last Halloween, by making a paper pattern, but I set the project aside for the following 9 months or so. But with Halloween creeping up, I thought that I’d better haul it out and work on it again.
I got some fabric on sale at Wall-Mart for $1/yard and dyed it green. Then I cut out and stitched together the front and back panels to form the torso. I sliced the sleeve pattern into 3 strips in order to form the 3 panel sleeves that are customary for chimpanzees. I spaced out the 3 pattern pieces to account for seam allowances before I traced and cut out the 3 sleeve pieces.
