Brad Pitt to be Ulysses 31 in The Odyssey?

Warner Bros are trying to get a sci-fi version of The Odyssey going. The rumour is George Miller (Happy Feet) will direct and Brad Pitt will star, however, they have not yet signed up for it. As you no doubt know "The Odyssey" follows the Greek hero Odysseus and his long journey home to Ithaca following the fall of Troy.

Making this a sci-fi film is nothing new. The old cartoon Ulysses 31 did it years ago. If they do make a new version I just hope there are no annoying robots involved.

What do you think of the news?

Hope it sustains my interest beyond the handful of decent fight scenes in Troy and the one excellent one which tcame at the start of the film.
I love interpretations of classic themes in a romanticised style. I'm thinking of the art of Picasso, in particular.
