Rashomon to be remade

Harbor Light Entertainment and Lotus are planning an English-language remake of helmer Akira Kurosawa's 1950 classic "Rashomon" says Variety.
Shifting the setting from ancient Japan to contemporary America, the setting of "Rashomon 2010" becomes a American court who must decide the facts about the rape of a woman and the murder of her husband.
It remains the first and most famous cinematic example of a story exploring the same event from the various character's different points of view and how truth can be subjective. Hero, Vantage Point used a similar story technique as have many others films and TV shows.
Do you think this should be remade? What did you think of the original?
