Dorian Gray - International Trailer

Based on the classic novel by Oscar Wilde, Dorian Gray tells the story of a strikingly beautiful young man named Dorian (Ben Barnes). He arrives in Victorian London and is swept into a social whirlwind by the charismatic Henry Wotton (Colin Firth), who introduces Dorian to the hedonistic pleasures of the city. When a portrait of Dorian is unveiled, such is it's beauty that he makes a pledge: he would give anything to stay as he is in the picture - even his soul.

Dorian Gray examines the destructive power of beauty, the blind pursuit of pleasure and the darkness that can result.

David Tennant is heading back to school

David Tennant (Dr Who) is playing the villainous Pomfrey in the new St Trinians 2 movie, which started filming today.

St Trinians was a series of cartoons created by Gerard Searle who also illustrated the Molesworth cartoons. They portrayed a British girls private school who practiced torture on each other, teachers and any other unfortunate passers-by. They were adapted into a series of films in the fifties and sixties and spawned a recent Gemma Arterton, Russell Brand-starring remake.

The film also stars Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, and both Rupert Everett and Colin Firth reprieve their roles from the earlier film.

Dorian Gray - Poster - He sure has a pretty picture

Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) stars in the new major feature film adaptation of Dorian Gray.

Dark Horizons got hold of this poster for the film that is due out in UK cinemas on 11th September.

I always liked the tale of The Picture of Dorian Gray and I say a great stage show of it a few years ago. I just hope this new film does it justice. It's got to be better than the version we saw in The League of Extraordinary Gentleman film.

A Christmas Carol - Poster for Robert Zemeckis' new 3D motion capture film

Jim Carrey plays Ebenezer Scrooge, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come. Colin Firth plays Fred and Gary Oldman plays Bob Cratchit, Marley and Tiny Tim.

It is due out on 6th November 2009.

Orlando Bloom in Main Street

Here is a first look at Orlando Bloom as a police officer in Main Street. Currently filming in Durham. N.C under the direction of Tony Award winner John Doyle. The the story focuses on five characters in Durham who get caught up in a scheme to rejuvenate the town’s economy by housing nuclear waste

From the once thriving tobacco warehouses, to the current run-down and closed shops of Five Points, a diverse group of residents and their respective life changes when outsider Gus Leroy (Colin Firth) brings something new and potentially dangerous into their quiet town.

Main Street is the last screenplay writter by Horton Foote. He won an Oscar for the screenplay for To Kill A Mockingbird and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1995 for his play The Young Man From Atlanta. He passed away in March.

Amber Tamblyn, Ellen Burstyn, Andrew McCarthy, Patricia Clarkson and Colin Firth also star in the film.

Genova - International Trailer

Mysterious happenings unfold when a grieving husband takes his daughters to live in Italy.

When university lecturer Joe (Colin Firth) is offered a job teaching in the beautiful Italian town of Genova, he jumps at the chance. Joe believes that he needs a new start for his 16-year-old daughter Kelly (Willa Holland) and her younger sister Mary (Perla Haney-Jardine) after the death of their mother (Hope Davis) in a car crash. With the help of family friend Barbara (Catherine Keener), they start to settle in. Mary takes up piano lessons while Kelly hangs out with her new boyfriend. But Mary is racked with guilt about the car accident and is suffering from terrible nightmares. She's also started to see a person she thinks is her mother, apparently alive and walking around the city. Directed by Michael Winterbottom (A Mighty Heart), Genova is a poignant tale of love and forgiveness.
