This does not sound good - HAL by Cyberdyne

The HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb) suit works by detecting faint bioelectrical signals using pads placed on specific areas of the body. The pads move the HAL suit accordingly. The Cyberdyne website explains: "When a person attempts to move, nerve signals are sent from the brain to the muscles via motoneuron, moving the musculoskeletal system as a consequence. At this moment, very weak biosignals can be detected on the surface of the skin. HAL catches these signals through a sensor attached on the skin of the wearer. Based on the signals obtained, the power unit is controlled to wearer's daily activities.
That's right, Japanese scientists at Cyberdyne are making an exoskeleton named after the psychotic computer from 2001: A Space Odyssey that will be super strong.

Robots destroying the world just got one step closer.

Could Terminator 5 be set in London?

The usually very reliable Rich Johnston over at Bleeding Cool had this little nugget of information.
I hear from industry sources that yet-to-be-named Terminator 5, the sequel to Terminator: Salvation, will be set in London in the year 2011, with a time-travelling John Connor (Christian Bale).
Not sure if this could be true or not. Very early days although back in April, Film Journal ran an interview with McG on his plans for a follow up to Terminator Salvation:
I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a 2011. John Connor is going to travel back in time and he’s going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion. They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome.
I think setting it in the UK will mix up the franchise a bit in a good way, and I wonder if it is anything to do with Bale wanting to shoot it back in his home country. Still as I've said this is very much a rumour, but it could lead to some pretty cool visuals. Now what would Skynet want with London?

UPDATED: Sounds like Skynet is going a bit funny

ATTENTION: ALL VISITORS TO SKYNETRESEARCH.COM

Skynet Research is experiencing technical difficulties on our corporate website. A networking error has generated interference in the audio presentation. Do not be alarmed. Skynet Research is doing everything in our power to resolve this technical issue as quickly as possible and resume normal operation.

Visitors to the SkynetResearch.com website should ignore this interference entirely.
Do not attempt to discern, repair, or otherwise tamper with the audio signal broadcasting during this time. Failure to follow this command can lead to further corrupting of the impacted data and cause further difficulty.

Skynet Research is also aware of rumors circulating that there is another explanation for this interference on the website www.ResistOrBeTerminated.com. This is false information. Skynet Research has no affiliation with this particular URL, and Skynet Research suggests all Internet users avoid www.ResistOrBeTerminated.com altogether.

Thank you for your patience, and you can be rest assured that Skynet Research will soon return to providing services that improve life for all human beings!

We are committed to making your life different,

That's what I was sent in my email today. I love this viral advertising. The way they are building up Skynet as a way to our future and now things are going slightly wrong for them. Anyone out there able to slow down the audio problems they mention? If you can let me know what you find out.

Terminator Salvation is shaping up to be a cracking film.

UPDATE:hsinzy in the comments gave the info on what the audio file is saying

This is recon team (—- three) to base. Base, do you read? Requesting extraction. (pause) I say again - we’re overdue by three days. We’re (—–) and we’re ready to debrief. Say (again) - we’ve completed reconnaissance. We’re prepared to (set) all tech comm units on (skynet attack). Current coordinates: (Romeo 2#####). Repeat. Immediate extraction for four man team. Thanks hsinzy.

The good people over on the Unfiction Forum have also been looking into it. They had the screen capture below from the Resist or be Terminated site, but this has apparantly since been pulled.
They also found this cool piece of video showing Skynet Processing (Terminator Skynet Camps)

Thanks to sowasred2012 for the link.

What do you make of that?

Terminator Salvation Plot

As I've already posted a couple of Terminator Salvation stories I thought I would post this little snippet of the plot (I may have already posted it ages ago so apologies if this is old news).

In the highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

That's the plot. What are yout thoughts on what the terrible secret is? Probably that Skynet is taking humans and converting them into Terminator cyborgs. Basically hollowing them out and using them as shells for the endo-skeleton. That's what Marcus Wright will have been and for some reason they use his original memories as cover for the infiltration of human strongholds. Then it will turn out John Connor is one or something like that. That's my thought on it anyway. I always liked the Robocop v Terminator comic book where it turned out Murphy was the spark Skynet needed to gain self awareness.
