G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - 3 TV Spots

Will this be cheesily good or so bad it hurts?

G.I. Joe - Japanese trailer gives our first look at The Doctor a.k.a. Cobra Commander

The Doctor is played by Joseph Gordon Levitt. You can see him at the 0:08 mark in the trailer chatting to Destro (Christopher Eccleston). Both are pre-iconic mask, although the Doctor has that weird breath mask thing.

The whole thing is looking very sci-fi and I reckon kids will love it. What do you think of the new trailer?

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - New posters

Here are a few new posters for the G.I. Joe film. They aren't as badly photoshopped as some earlier ones, although Ripcord and Duke seem a bit bored firing automatic weapons.

G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra - Baroness Action Figure

Just in time for the release of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment, in association with Hasbro, Hasbro introduces the first and only 12” BARONESS figure. The figure, in the likeness of BARONESS actress Sienna Miller as seen in the upcoming movie, features a soft goods trench coat and body suit as well as multiple signature weapons. The figure comes with an R. Black designed “COBRA recruiting poster” featuring BARONESS and features the “COBRA Office of Propaganda” seal of approval. The figure and poster are packaged together in a premium faux-leather box with embossed foil.

Now the action figure, I feel, is not that good but I love the artwork and colours used on the packaging.

The Stephen Sommers-directed action-adventure stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - Is this our first glimpse of Cobra Commander in action?

Entertainment Weekly published a photo from G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra that reveals what could possibly be the very first official look at Cobra Commander.

The photo caption reveals that Sienna Miller (middle) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander (right) are shown in the photo.

It does look a bit like the images we have seen in the past for Cobra Commander's mask and it does appear slightly different to the other masked man on the left (that could just be due to the muzzle flash though). However, it is more than likely just a generic Cobra soldier. Either that or G.I. Joe is crossing over with Army of Two.

Could it be our first glimpse of the Commander? Is this film going to be good, bad or meh?

Mysteries of Pittsburgh - Poster

I recently posted the trailer for Mysteries of Pittsburgh and now here is the poster. Not really anything special - the usual giant heads thing going on when the poster designer can't think of anything better and a woman in a bikini to get the lads looking. It doesn't really tell you much about the film.

I honestly don't know if I am looking forward to seeing this film or not. Sienna Miller has never been someone who makes me want to see a film, but at least she is getting away from being that actress who used to go out with Jude Law.

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh - Trailer for adaption of Michael Chabon's novel

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh is based on Michael Chabon's novel of the same name, and it first premiered at Sundance back in 2008.

Art Bechstein is floundering in his new-found post-college freedom, opting to take the job with the least amount of responsibility he can find (at the appropriately titled Book Barn), while sleep walking through the Series Seven prep courses that will speed him into a job chosen for him by his father, far away from the security of his childhood Pittsburgh. Art's fortunes begin to change when a chance encounter with freshman roommate and part-time drug dealer Mohammed lands him at a swanky summer party where he falls for the beautifully tipsy Jane Bellweather. The two quickly connect over a late-night plate of pie, but Jane's on-again off-again boyfriend Cleveland has other plans for the pair. Taking Art hostage from the dreary Book Barn, Cleveland threatens to throw Art off the top of an abandoned steel mill, a hideout that Cleveland romantically calls "The Cloud Factory." Suspended high above Pittsburgh, Art realizes that his summer has finally begun, what would become the last true summer of his life.

Director: Rawson Marshall Thurber

Following on the style shown in the recent Star Trek character posters, Paramount Pictures have released these four for the new Stephen Sommers film, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.

G.I. Joe may be a Trilogy?

So I was over at the folks place with the family today ready to go to the Port Sunlight Village Festival. We had a good day. The sun was shining, we bumped into the Dude and his family (Hi to The Dude), my son went crazy on the various stalls and rides and it was all rather pleasant.

Just before leaving the folks I had a read of the supplements in the Mail on Sunday. There was a big article about Sienna Miller's lovelife. However, the interesting bit was that it mentioned she was optioned for 2 more movies following the G.I. Joe movie (starring Dennis Quaid amongst others) where she plays the Baroness. I wasn't aware it was going to be a trilogy, but looks as if it just may be. Can anyone confirm this?
