Grimm - My what a bald head you have Mr Willis

This sounds like it could be interesting. Looks as if all the old fairy tales, which we all know were actually rather nasty, are coming true or the creatures from them have always been around.

Shocktillyoudrop
had the poster that mentions Bruce Willis' involvement. The film is also apparantly being directed by Russell Mulcahy (Razorback, Highlander, Resident Evil: Extinction, Give 'em Hell Malone). Here is the synopsis for Grimm.

Marburg, Massachusetts, USA - Teenager Katie O'Sullivan goes to a new babysitting job. Instead of a regular family, she encounters ghostly twins Henry and Grace and a terrifying apparition that drags her off towards a sinister tower. She is never seen again.

Soon afterwards, Pat Quinn and his family move to the seemingly idyllic town, where he is the new Police Chief. His second wife Ella has two daughters from her first marriage and Quinn has a daughter, Megan, and son, John, from his. On their very first evening John encounters the strange twins, as well as a huge frog, which he brings back to the house. Quinn makes him take it back to the pond where he found it, but that night a wet, naked young man forces his way into the house and Megan's bedroom. He vanishes before Quinn sees him, leaving behind a slimy trail. From this moment on, Megan and John notice strange things and people in the town, but when they talk about them, nobody believes them. Only Professor Kurland, who approaches Quinn to show him pictures of Katie and two other teenagers who went missing at the same time, thinks they're telling the truth. He warns Quinn that bad things happen to youngsters in this town.

One day, Megan and her best friend Ruth go to visit Ruth's grandmother. A wolf-like creature attacks them, having already savaged the grandmother. Ruth is torn limb from limb and Megan barely escapes with her life. As mysterious and frightening happenings occur one after the other, Quinn starts to believe there may be sinister forces at work in Marburg, but will he discover who or what is behind it all in time to save his family?

All well and good. Could be horrendous but with decent effects it may be a cool, spooky film.

What are your thoughts on it?

Give 'em Hell Malone - Cannes Trailer

I first mentioned the Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) film, Give 'em Hell Malone, back in September of last year.

Then there were teaser trailers, photos, and posters.

Now the new trailer for its Cannes debut has been released and it is below for your viewing pleasure.

Starring Thomas Jane, Ving Rhames, Elsa Pataky, Chris Yen, French Stewart, Doug Hutchison, Leland Orser, Eileen Ryan, Gregory Harrison and David Andriole.

I'm digging the look of this film. I love the whole pulp noir style of it all. What are your thoughts on it? Are you a fan of Thomas Jane? Will you be watching the film when it is released?

Russell Mulcahy takes the Bait

Russell Mulcahy has recently made the nice looking Give 'em Hell Malone starring Thomas Jane. He also made Highlander and The Shadow amongst many other things.

Now, for his next film, Bait, he appears to have taken whole heap of high concepts and thrown into something that can only be described as a great big mess. Oh it will also be in 3-D.

In a sleepy coastal resort community, shoppers at an underground supermarket find themselves terrorized by a crazed bandit when the unimaginable occurs… A monstrous freak tsunami swallows the town. Now trapped inside a flooded supermarket with an armed maniac and rushing water threatening to entomb them all in a watery grave, the imprisoned band of survivors discover they’re not alone. The tsunami has brought some unwanted visitors from the depths. As the waters rise they must overcome not only the threat of drowning, but another threat, just as deadly and far more bloodthirsty… Packs of hungry tiger sharks.

You probably feel much the same way I do after that.

Give 'em Hell, Malone - Two new posters

The Moving Picture posted these two posters for Russell Mulcahy's Give 'em Hell Malone.

Looks like some poster designer has been reading their Sin City books. I personally feel these posters are a bit naff, but I am looking forward to seeing the film.

The film stars Thomas Jane as Malone along with Ving Rhames, Elsa Pataky, Leland Orser, French Stewart and Doug Hutchison

UPDATED: The Courier - Russell "Highlander" Mulcahey and Adrien Brody

Here is the synopsis for Mulcahey's latest film, The Courier. Sounds pretty cool, but a bit Transporterish.

A million bucks, just to a deliver a briefcase…

It’s a job too good to be true, especially if you’re the COURIER, a daredevil carrier renowned for taking on impossible missions who’s never, ever missed a drop. The only catch is delivering it to someone who can’t be found, not even by the FBI, and when that someone is the notorious, never seen King of the Underworld EVIL SIVLE who’s very name makes the toughest tremble, there’s a lot more than reputation and money on the line.

With a baying pack of double crossing feds, conniving crooked cops and ruthless rival crime bosses in hot pursuit, the Courier trail blazes a world-wide chase for the most wanted man in the land. Drugged, beaten, tortured and two timed, the bloodhound bagman discovers easy money was never so hard, and tracking the elusive kingpin to Las Vegas learns just why Evil is the one person on the planet no one can find, and why he really is the King…

UPDATE: The writers are Michael Brandt and Derek Haas who wrote Wanted (Filmstalker review) and 3:10 to Yuma.

Thomas Jane - Photos of Give 'em Hell Malone

I posted the trailer for Russell Mulcahy's Give 'em Hell Malone a while ago and I personally think it looks ace. Looks like a very hard boiled detective kind of story. Mulcahy previously directed Highlander.
Thomas Jane stars as Malone, a tough as nails private investigator who squares off with gangsters and thugs to protect a valuable secret. "Malone goes through hell to protect the information but he dishes some hell as well."
Film School Rejects got hold of the photos. As well as Thomas Jane there is also a shot of Elsa Pataky, but still no photos of Ving Rhames. It's due out in April next year. Will you be going to see this?

UPDATED: Give 'em Hell Malone - Poster and trailer for Thomas Jane's latest

I mentioned this a while ago but here is a poster and a teaser trailer for the Thomas Jane, Ving Rhames film. It's directed by Russell Mulcahy.

"Thomas Jane as the title character and Ving Rhames as his rival, "Boulder." Malone, tough private eye, takes a job retrieving a case containing a mysterious secret. Bullets, fists, and blood fly as he fights through an army of thugs to protect the secret."

UPDATE: Here's the embeded trailer below. It does look pretty cool and proper old school. Let me know what you think of it.
