In the second week of it being open Watchmen has dropped to second place in the US and Dwayne Johnson's Race to Witch Mountain has taken the top spot. Watchmen's takings have dropped by 67% which is not good, but it's still taken a fair few million.

I am just so surprised that Paul Blart: Mall Cop is still in the top 10. It makes no sense that a straight to DVD type of film should be doing that well, but what do I know.

Taken has become the first film since The Dark Knight to have seven consecutive weeks in the top five. I really must get round to watching Liam Neeson's latest film as it has been out on DVD over here for ages.

Did you expect Watchmen to drop so much so soon? What are your theories for Paul Blart's popularity?

Madea Goes to Jail - Trailer for male actor playing fat suited woman. Run away!

A few days ago I posted a cool looking poster for Madea Goes to Jail. I knew nothing about the Madea character or about the film. Since then I have discovered that Tyler Perry's Madea character is a woman he plays while wearing a fat suit. Basically a Big Momma's House but with a dash of pathos thrown in. Yep, I'm with you there. It does sound like something I will avoid.

Just goes to show that a great poster design does not mean a good film. For your deliberation I bring you the trailer. Be sure to give me your views on it!

Excellent poster for Madea Goes to Jail

I just thought this poster was a great design yet doesn't really tell you much about the film in question Not heard of Madea before, but I did notice it stars Keshia Knight Pulliam who was Rudy Huxtable in The Cosby Show. This is what the synopsis on IMDB has to say about the film.

At long last, Madea returns to the big screen in TYLER PERRY'S MADEA GOES TO JAIL. This time America's favorite irreverent, pistol-packin' grandmomma is raising hell behind bars and lobbying for her freedom!

After a high-speed freeway chase puts Madea (TYLER PERRY) in front of the judge, her reprieve is short-lived as anger management issues get the best of her and land her in jail. A gleeful Joe (TYLER PERRY) couldn't be happier at Madea's misfortune. But Madea's eccentric family members the Browns (DAVID and TAMALA MANN) rally behind her, lending their special "country" brand of support.Meanwhile, Assistant District Attorney Joshua Hardaway (DEREK LUKE) is on the fast track to career success. But Hardaway lands a case too personal to handle - defending young prostitute and former drug addict Candace Washington (KEISHA KNIGHT PULLIAM) - and asks his fiancée and fellow ADA Linda Holmes (ION OVERMAN) to fill in on his behalf. When Candace ends up in jail, Madea befriends the young woman, protecting her in a "motherly" way as only Madea can.

Based on Perry's successful stage play, TYLER PERRY'S MADEA GOES TO JAIL is written, and directed by Tyler Perry. The film is produced by Reuben Cannon. TYLER PERRY'S MADEA GOES TO JAIL also stars RONREACO LEE, VANESSA FERLITO, VIOLA DAVIS, ROBIN COLEMAN, SOPHIA VERGARA, and BOBBI BAKER.
