Nine - Trailer and Photos - If you liked Chicago then this one is for you

Here is a trailer and some photos for Nine. It is a musical in the style of Chicago which I thought was terribel, but that's just me.
The musical tells the story of world famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) as he prepares his latest picture and balances the numerous women in his life including his wife (Marion Cotillard), a producer, a mistress (Penelope Cruz), a film star muse (Nicole Kidman), an American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Fergie), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), and his deceased mother (Sophia Loren).
Nine is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha). The screenplay was adapted by filmmaker Anthony Minghella and Michael Tolkin. The film is based on Federico Fellini's masterpiece 8½.

So Fergie is in this, will.i.am was in Wolverine and Taboo was in Street Fighter. What will the last Black Eyed Pea, apl.de.ap, star in?

The Killer Inside Me is saved

The Killer Inside Me, the latest collaboration between director Michael Winterbottom and producer Andrew Eaton, has been saved after securing new funding. The $13m project was close to collapse after it lost key financial support.

The film had to secure new funding by 3rd April or it faced losing actors Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba. It lost its funding from Barbarian Film and Ocean Media at the end of last year.

Producer Eaton confirmed the production is close to signing a deal with Canada-based private investor Hero Entertainment, which will provide about 20% of the budget. The rest of the finance is from pre-sales deals, which have been handled by Wild Bunch internationally, and Endeavor in the US. It was widely sold at AFM.

Eaton described the deal as a "relief" and added he had been through "one of the longest prep periods I have ever had". He said that he was hopeful that shooting could begin the next six to eight weeks. Chris Hanely, Robert Weinbach and Bradford Schlei are also producing the film.

The film had been due to start shooting in Oklahoma at the end of January.

The project is an adaption of Jim Thompson's novel. The synopsis of which is as follows:

Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford is a pillar of the community in his small Texas town, patient and thoughtful. Some people think he's a little slow and boring but that's the worst they say about him. But then nobody knows about what Lou calls his 'sickness'. It nearly got him put away when he was younger, but his adopted brother took the rap for that. Now the sickness that has been lying dormant for a while is about to surface again - and the consequences are brutal and devastating.

Jim Thompson was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma. After an itinerant childhood during which his sheriff father was driven from office for embezzlement; and as a roughneck in the Texan oil fields of the 1920s, Thompson became successful as a writer with the pulp fiction houses of the 1950s, writing a dozen of his more enduring novels in just 19 months. He also wrote two screenplays (for the Stanley Kubrick films The Killing and Paths of Glory).

Stanley Kubrick described the book as "Probably the most chilling and believable first-person story of a criminally warped mind I have ever encountered."

Kate Hudson, Elias Koteas, Bill Pullman and Ned Beatty have joined the psychological thriller The Killer Inside Me for Wild Bunch says Screen Daily.

My Best Friend's Girl - Crappy Poster and the lead actor agrees

Funny thing from the main guy, Dane Cook, from My Best Friend's Girl, which is out on the 19th September. Looks like your typical crappy rom-com However, old Daney boy gets some major kudos for saying how crappy the new poster for his movie is on his official blog. I still won't go and see the movie, although the Wife probably will and she'll no doubt love it - I only type this as she is reading it over my shoulder (she thinks it looks crap as well).

Here is Dane's list direct from his blog. Enjoy. Hopefully he'll still get acting jobs.

1. Graphics:Whoever photoshopped our poster must have done so at taser point with 3 minutes to fulfill their hostage takers deranged obligations. They should have called Donnie Hoyle and had him give a tutorial using "You Suck at Photoshop" templates. This is so glossy it makes Entertainment Weekly look wooden.

2. My head:The left side of my face seems to be melting off of my skull. I guess I am looking directly into the Ark of the Covenant? Are they going for the bells palsy thing here? My left side looks like Brittany Spears' vagina.

3. The Stare:My character apparently has fallen in love with a strand of Kate Hudsons hair. Kate's mannequin is desperately in love with the inside of my right ear while Jason is half stunned, half corsage.

4. Lips:It looks like I'm wearing Maybelline Water Shine Diamonds Liquid Lipstick. My characters name is now Winter Solstice and I'm a hooker with a heart of gold. Jason is my floral carrying pimp, while Kate is my first trick!

5. Fashion:My character is sporting a very high collar I mean damn they should be snow capped at that altitude. It's going for the vampire lurking in the castle basement vibe. An Olympic pole vaulter would have a tough go clearing that collar. I'm also able to turn my head comfortably 180 degrees, because I was raised in an abandoned barn by a family of owls.

6. Flesh:It's no secret that I'm more rugged facially due to a drunken visit by the teen acne fairy, but according to this poster I've got perfect porcelain flesh. I look like the fuckin' bathroom floor at Caesars Palace. One of Marie Osmond's dolls would look at me and say "shit … that guys got flawless skin!"

7. Hair:It's actually a close up shot of Tom Sellecks Magnum P.I. mustache they photo-slapped on my noggin'.

8. The set:Pick one. This entire film takes place:A. on GattacaB. at the Fortress of SolitudeC. inside a crystal wind chime

9. The cast:Alec Baldwin is so fucking funny in this movie! Is he on the poster? I think so. He plays the wise talking plant Jason is clutching.

10. Final thoughts:I set out to make a movie like the contemporary men and women, that you and I respect, are making. My generation of comedians, actors, directors and producers that I wish to collaborate with as I build a solid body of work.
