T.J. Hooker is heading back to the streets

We've had Starsky & Hutch, Star Trek and The A-Team is in the works but now another programme from our youth is heading towards the big screen.

Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King, The Mask) is in talks to direct T.J. Hooker, an action comedy based on the 1982 TV series, with David Foster, Ryan Heppe and series creator Rick Husky set to produce.

According to Variety, the writing team of Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson will script the story, which focuses on the relationship between the title character and his father.

No actors have been cast yet for the feature.

The TV series, produced by Aaron Spelling, debuted in 1982 on ABC and ran for five seasons, the last on CBS. William Shatner starred as a no-nonsense patrol sergeant, with Adrian Zmed, Heather Locklear, Richard Herd and James Darren as co-stars.

"The series was the poster child for cop TV shows in the 1980s with great stunts, so we think there's a fun movie to be made from it,"
Heppe said.

I can't say whether I was a big fan of Hooker. It was one of those shows I remember as a kid, but could take it or leave it.

How do you feel about a T.J. Hooker film? Who could play T.J.? Chris Pine maybe.

I'm holding out for a Quantum Leap film.

Has B.A. Baracus got Game?

Who will be brave enough to don Mr. T's chains? Blackfilm has learned that rapper The Game is being considered for the role of B.A Baracus.

Recent word was that Common was going to take on the part, but with his recent casting opposite Queen Latifah in Just Right, he may not finish filming before 'The A-Team begins filming in August.

Common and The Game appeared in Street Kings last year.

The A-Team will be directed by Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces)

Liam Neeson was in negotiations to star as Hannibal Smith, while Bradley Cooper, after repeated denials, told MTV News that he will be playing the role of Templeton Peck.

I've not seen The Game acting in anything other than a music video so I can't really comment on how good a choice he would be. To be honest I would rather they went with a great actor as opposed to going the rap star route. Strange that there is still no word on who will be playing Murdoch. Who would you like to see as B.A.?

It is due for release on 11th June 2010.

UPDATED: The Hangover - Interview with the cast

Here is a great interview from Hey U Guys with the cast of The Hangover at the films premiere in London. Thanks Guys. An excellent job as always.

They interviewed Heather Graham, Zach Galifianaskis, Todd Phillips (Director), Justin Bartha, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper.

Be warned I think Heather Graham was feeling a bit cold. Not sure how I know that, I may be psychic (see above). Bradley Cooper also seems to confirm his role as Face in The A-Team.

The A-Team - Liam Neeson as Hannibal

Suddenly The A-Team film sounds like a very good idea.

Liam Neeson is in talks to star as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith in 20th Century Fox's long-gestating bigscreen adaptation The A-Team. Bradley Cooper is in early talks to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck.

According to Variety, the Joe Carnahan-directed film is based on the 1980s TV series and will go into production in late August for a June 11, 2010, release.

Ridley Scott is producing with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell, with Tony Scott exec producing through Scott Free. Carnahan and Brian Bloom polished a script by Skip Woods, whose recent script credits include G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Neeson is in talks to play Hannibal, the role originated by George Peppard, while Cooper would play "Faceman," the role played by Dirk Benedict.

Carnahan, Fox and Scott Free have kept the series premise -- four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery escape from a military prison to become do-gooder mercenaries -- but they've replaced the campy nature of the series with a tone closer to those of Mission: Impossible and Ocean's Eleven.

Still to be cast are the roles of Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, played by Dwight Schultz in the original, and Sgt. "B.A." Baracus, the role that made Mr. T an '80s icon.

Who do you want to see play Murdock and B.A.? What elements from the TV show do you want to see in the film? How will they get B.A. on the plane?

Of course it should end like this - thank to Bags for pointing this out in the comments.

The A-Team - Does Bradley Cooper have the right Face?

A little while back it was rumoured that rapper turned actor, Common, was to play B.A. Baracus in a big screen adaption of The A-Team. This film has been knocking around in development hell for a long time, but things seem to be moving on it. Chris Pine (Star Trek) recently said that he would love to play Murdoch and the only part that never seems to be mentioned is that if Hannibal.

IESB.net found out some more news over the weekend from actor Bradley Cooper himself, who apparantly confirmed that he will be playing Templeton Peck aka "Face".
IESB asked Bradley Cooper point blank if he was excited about playing Faceman in The A-Team. His reaction? A mixture of surprise and astonishment - "That's out already!?"

Following some laughter and excitement, he continued, "Wow. Yeah...its
Joe Carnahan's. It's very interesting. It'll be cool. It will be cool see
what...He'll make a great movie out of it."

Cooper was quickly whisked away back down the hall, after we had a chance to thank him for his time and got a "Thanks man" in return.
Joe Carnahan is down for directing the team, which will hit theaters on 11th June 2010.

This is the second piece of bit news involving Cooper. The first was that he is runoured to be one of the favourites for playing Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern film.

I can't really picture him in either role, but I have only really seen him in Alias and a couple of other things.

Do you think he would work in the role made famous by Dirk Benedict? Is Common the right one to play B.A.? Who would you like to see play Hannibal and Howling Mad Murdoch?

This will be a big movie about the 1980s hip-hop movement that took over the world.”
