Adrien Brody and Michael Chiklis are in the indie comedy High School. The story is centered on a high school valedictorian who gets high with the school stoner and faces a drug test, then decides to get the entire school stoned so he can beat the test by making everyone fail. Brody will portray a drug dealer and Chiklis will play the school principal.
20th Century Fox is moving forward with plans for "Money Never Sleeps", a sequel to Oliver Stone's 1987 feature "Wall Street" reports the trades.
Xinhua Media Entertainment and China Film Group will make a $30 million live-action feature based on the life of "Mulan" says The Hollywood Reporter.
Warner Bros. has picked up screen rights for Headshot, and has set scriptwriter Alessandro Camon to adapt the three-book graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent - an unlikely alliance between a cop and a hitman takes place after each watches his partner die. The new partners seek revenge and discover they have a shared enemy and much in common despite being on opposite sides of the law.
Blizzard and Legendary Pictures' feature film adaptation of the Warcraft franchise isn't likely to arrive next year as previously announced. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime tells Shack News that "I don't know about the 2009 date, but it is still something we are very excited about."
The Jim Henson Co. has acquired rights to The Happytime Murders, a comedic film noir murder mystery that Brian Henson will direct for the company's Henson Alternative banner, which is meant to entertain adult audiences. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story was written by Todd Berger from a story by Dee Austin Robertson and Berger, and takes place in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, with the puppets viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show called "The Happytime Gang" begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet -- with a drinking problem, no less -- takes on the case.
At a recent presentation of footage from "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", director David Fincher indicated his "Rendezvous with Rama" feature looks to be dead. Fincher tells First Showing that "It looks like it's not going to happen. There's no script and as you know, [Morgan Freeman's] not in the best of health right now. We've been trying to do it but it's probably not going to happen."

That's the proposed line up, according to MTV, where Gaiman said, "I think it's getting more and more likely as Marvel reclaims its film properties from all over the world. They're sort of making their own movies and putting them out through Paramount. So they're now in there with a chance."

Kenny Ortega, director of the High School Musical films, has been asked by Paramount to direct a Footloose remake. He has somebody in mind for Kevin Bacon's role. Six degrees of Zac Efron anyone?
Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, Paul McGill, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle have joined the musical Fame with Thomas Dekker also in negotiations.
Danny Glover has joined the voice cast of Agent Crush, the animatronics feature film for Fantastic Films International/Crush Productions. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glover will supply the voice of Major Rusty Gubbins in the futuristic film, which also features Ioan Gruffudd, Neve Campbell and Roger Moore.
Universal has attached The Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona to direct Hater, Glen Mazzara's adaptation of British author David Moody's thriller novel about an epidemic of violence perpetrated by ordinary people, according to Variety.
Rebecca Mader (Lost) has taken the lead female role in Men Who Stare at Goats, the Grant Heslov-directed adaptation of Jon Ronson's book. George Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing.
Millennium Films is remaking the 2004 French heist drama Le Convoyeur, retitled to Armored, with Eric Bana in talks to star and F. Gary Gray attached to direct. The story follows a man who takes a job for an armored car company and ingratiates himself with his co-workers, who trust him enough to make him part of their heist plans. Unbeknown to his colleagues, the man had his own motives for taking the job.
Mandate Pictures has acquired the spec I'm With Cancer, a comedic autobiographical story written by Will Reiser that Seth Rogen and his writing-producing partner Evan Goldberg will produce with Ben Karlin (The Daily Show). I'm With Cancer is Reiser's account of his struggle to beat cancer, with the story centering on a 25-year-old who finds out he has the disease.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen filming continues in the Arizona at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Jalopink has posted a few shots from the set and it appears that the movie will be using "Skids" as an Autobot in the new film.
