Metropolis. Lost Original Cut found in Argentina
Hi to all our readers in Argentina.
Lost footage from Fritz Lang's classic, Metropolis where recently found in Buenos Aires Museum. These lost scenes have just been shown to journalists.
Apparantly this original cut of the 1927 film had been in the hands of a private colector for 80 years before being passed to the Museum.
The original cut is 3 and a half hours long so there must be some substantial extra scenes on there. Hopefully it will get rereleased.
Quite rightly the Museum Director, Paula Felix-Didier, has said, "The film hasn't left the museum and it won't leave until the city government and the Murnau Foundation decide what to do."
More can be read here.
