The BBFC (British board of film classification) has seen the film and have spoken –
“The Decent: Part 2 has been classed as ‘18’ (equivalent “R” in the U.S). Consumer advice: Contains strong gore, violence and horror. This work was passed with no cuts made.”
18 is great news for this kind of film.
The Decent 2 is tipped to open in the U.K on 9th October 2009. No word yet on the U.S rating or release date.
Distraught, confused, and half-wild with fear, Sarah Carter emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where she encountered unspeakable terrors. Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she''s covered in her friends'' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions. As the rescue party drives deeper into uncharted caverns, nightmarish visions of the recent past begin to haunt Sarah and she starts to realize the full horror and futility of the mission. Subjected to the suspicion and mistrust of the group and confronted once more by the inbred, feral and savagely ruthless Crawlers, Sarah must draw on all her inner reserves of strength and courage in a desperate final struggle for deliverance and redemption.

Billy is Surviving Evil - He's a cool dude

Billy Zane, one of the coolest actors out there who has never achieved the greatness he should have had. Mind you he has been in some really dire films. As Chisholm always said, he would have made a great Bruce Wayne / Batman back in the day. Plus my Wife can never understand why Kate Winslet would want to go with DiCaprio when she had the Zanester there all studly in his dinner jacket.
In this new film Zane is a TV survival host whose show taping on a remote Philipine island becomes that much more dangerous when they disturb the domain of an Aswang, a hideous ghoul of Filipino lore.
A TV documentary crew arrive on a remote island in the Philippines to film a survival special. Their back-to-the-wild adventure proves to be more terrifying than they ever could have imagined.

The Descent 2 - They're going deeper underground.
Here's another version of the trailer for The Descent 2 (the previous one I posted didn't always work).

Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions.

Descent 2 - Photos from the sequel...Here be beasties!

Are you a fan of the first film? Do you feel there is a need for a sequel and does the story sound as if it takes away some of the power from the original?
