Drew Barrymore, Zoe Bell, Ellen Page and Juliette Lewis are ready to Whip It!

Drew Barrymore is directing and starring in Whip It! It is based around the world of roller derby and also stars Ellen Page, Juliette Lewis, Kristen Wiig, and Zoe Bell. USA Today had these photos
It is a a coming-of-age story starring Juno's Ellen Page as a teenage girl who rebels against her beauty-pageant-obsessed mother (Marcia Gay Harden) and boring Texas town by joining the rough-and-tumble world of roller derby under the name Babe Ruthless.
Barrymore plays Smashley, and Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig is Maggie, her sister in arms on the local Hurl Scouts derby team. It gets its name from the members' green faux-Girl Scout uniforms, complete with merit badges for kicking butt.
The film co-stars Jimmy Fallon as the derby announcer and Juliette Lewis as the leader of rival derby team The Holy Rollers, who finds out a secret that could force her tiny new foe from the competition.

MacGruber heading to the big screen.

Another Saturday Night Live skit has found its way to the big screen. According to Production Weekly, Jorma Taccone (Lonely Island, Land of the Lost) will direct the MacGruber film.

Ryan Phillippe and Val Kilmer are in talks to star in the spoof of MacGyver.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Forte and Kristen Wiig are reprising their roles from the skits for the Paramount and Relativity Media production.

The MacGruber sketches starred Forte as MacGyver's son with Wiig as an assistant who always find themselves, along with that week's guest star, in a control room with a ticking bomb about to go off. MacGruber gets sidelined by personal issues, and the bomb goes off.

Forte and Taccone wrote the parodies with John Solomon. The trio wrote the feature script, which takes the story in a completely different direction from the skits yet remains strangely familiar: The legendary, much decorated MacGruber is pulled out of retirement as a monk in Ecuador by a colonel, who needs him once more to fight on behalf of his country. This time the mission involves going up against the evil Cunth, who has a nuclear warhead; the mission is personal because Cunth killed MacGruber's bride.

The movie version would see Phillippe playing Piper, an Army officer forced to pair up with a reluctant MacGruber. Kilmer would be Cunth.

MacGruber movie is fast-tracked and at this stage looks like it could make it to the screen before a MacGyver movie, which is in development at New Line.

Production will begin next month in New Mexico.

I was a fan of McGyver, but never saw much of MacGruber. Are you excited to see a MacGruber film? Will it work? Cunth! What a name.

Here is what Richard Dean Anderson thinks of the character.

Now the official site has gone live and there are a couple of video blogs with the boys themselves.

Joe Lo Truglio discusses the efforts of the film's production to go green by saving on plastic water bottles and cups

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Kristen Wiig spend a day learning to drive the film's featured RV under the watchful eye of 'Al'.

What if Judd Apatow directed Watchmen?

The Watchmen haven't been acting like heroes lately. In fact, they've mostly been sitting around their Los Angeles apartment watching TV. They're the closest of friends, but when nuclear Armageddon threatens, can they put joking aside, face adulthood, and save the world? Starring Paul Rudd as Dr. Manhattan, Seth Rogen as Nite Owl, Jonah Hill as Rorschach, and Michael Cera as the Comedian. Kristen Wiig appears in a nonspeaking role as Silk Spectre.
Slate.com have other What If...? scenarious for Watchmen including Woody Allen and Tyler Perry.
