Missing in Action remake - When Chuck Norris looks in the mirror nothing appears. There can never be a second Chuck Norris.

We all know Chuck Norris.

When there's a fire, you stop, drop, and roll. When there's a Chuck Norris, you stop, drop, and die.

We don't know if Chuck Norris enjoys a good fight. He's never had one.

Chuck Norris bites the hand that feeds him?and eats their entrails.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. A Chuck Norris a day kills.

Chuck Norris can unscramble an egg.

When Chuck Norris wants popcorn, he breathes on Nebraska.

Chuck Norris has a vacation home on the sun.

Chuck Norris uses red hot lava to moisturize his skin.

Chuck Norris invented the apple.

Chuck Norris Built Mount Everest with a bucket and spade.

Chuck Norris does not age. Every birthday, it's just another year added to his existence, which sucks for you.

Chuck Norris does not have chest hair, he has millions of highly venomous nematocysts. You have virtually no chance of surviving the venomous sting, unless treated immediately. The pain is so excruciating and overwhelming that you would most likely go into shock and collapse a split second before getting hit in the face with a roundhouse kick.

Yeah. That's Chuck Norris.

MGM and the WWE are teaming to develop a direct-to-DVD remake of the Chuck Norris 1984 Vietnam pic "Missing in Action" says The Hollywood Reporter.

The original centered on Col. James Braddock (Norris), a POW of the Viet Cong who escapes Southeast Asia and heads back to liberate other U.S. captives. A prequel and a sequel were released in the following four years.

Jeremy Passmore, who also is penning MGM's "Red Dawn" theatrical remake, is on board to write the script with partner Andre Fabrizio.

The new film will be updated to reflect modern military realities and will be set during the current Iraq War. Andrew Stevens ("Heist") will produce.

Now who on Earth would be able, or indeed have the guts, to replace Chuck Norris?

John Carpenter's The Prince - Bad Ass Gangster

You wait ages for a new John Carpenter movie and then two come along. First there is his prison movie, Riot, starring Nicholas Cage (hope it is one of Cage's better acting roles!). I posted the poster for that one here. Now there is news of another film directed by John Carpenter called The Prince.

Filmstalker had the news and they say that the two writers on the film are Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio, whose previous credits include Special, the film about a man who is taking drugs that make him believe he's a superhero. Special is a great film and well thought out so they have got the moxie in the writing department.

About this new film they say:

“It's a bit of a departure. It's definitley more of a very character based crime movie. I don't know what's going on with it right now, but the premise is that this guy was the most [badass] gangster of all time in Las Vegas, and he's left the life and created this whole new world. His wife died but he's raising his kid. He's living in the middle of nowhere and he's this very religious, trying to live a straight life guy. His daughter is now going to school at UCLA and she disappears, and he goes looking for her. The trail leads to Vegas and he has to go get her, and the entire city kind of comes down on top of him.”

What's more he says they have completed a version that they're really happy with, and it's a brutal, violent and dark film at the end.

All sounds very promising and like the classic John Carpenter stuff that we just haven't seen in such a long time.

Are you excited about this news? My question to you is who could play the titular Prince?

Special - Trailer

I saw this last year and really enjoyed it. I hadn't realised that it was yet to come out in the States. It's well worth checking out if you get the chance.

It's all about a lonely man called Les (Michael Rapaport) who, while taking untested medication, develops superpowers and goes out to make a difference in a the World. The thing is he's had a psychotic reaction to the tablets and is still just an ordinary man. It is sad, funny and touching.
Written and directed by Hal Haberman and Jeremy Passmore (who’s co-writing John Carpenter’s The Prince) Special opens on November 21 in the USA. I think you can now get it on DVD over here in Britain.
