The Argonauts - Jason to set sail again in another sword and sandal epic

It appears that Jason and his fearless crew of the Argo are going to set sail on the big screen once more and Zak Penn (X-Men, Incredible Hulk, The Avengers) is the man to write it. Fox have hired him to write the screenplay for Jason's journey to Colchis.

The original Jason and the Argonauts is one of my all time favourites and I've spent many a Sunday afternoon watching it and waiting for one of the best action sequences in any movie. Ray Harryhausen's splendid Skeleton battle. Abso-bloody-brilliant. Pardon the tmisis! Took him four months to make and was a grand total of three minutes screen time.

So with this, the remake of Clash of the Titans, War of the Gods and the two Hercules movies in production we have a veritable Sword and Sandal epic-demic (pardon the dreadful pun) on the horizon.
