Public Enemies Bank Raid Game

A new online game created by Universal Pictures International to promote upcoming movie Public Enemies is using Facebook Connect and Twitter to create a new form of social gaming experience.

Bank Raids challenges you to match 1930’s John Dillinger for criminal ambition, recruiting gang members, robbing banks to try to become Public Enemy No. 1.

This is one of the first film marketing campaigns to incorporate Facebook Connect, using it to enhance the gaming experience by seamlessly integrating your Facebook account with game-play. You can use your Facebook login to sign in, save your progress and recruit friends to your gang.

When you finish playing you can automatically post updates to Facebook and popular micro-blogging site Twitter, sharing exploits with friends as your notoriety rises, including how many banks you’ve raided and how much money you’ve stolen.

You can play the game in 2/3 minutes for a quick fire experience or you can play over a number of days and weeks, immersing yourself in the world and building up your fortune. A scoreboard will show your position in relation to other gang leaders.

Public Enemies is the true story of John Dillinger. He was a charismatic 1930’s Chicago gangster who outwitted and outgunned the law in a series of wild chases and outrageous bank raids. He was branded as America’s Public Enemy No. 1 by the police, but regarded as a hero by the general public. Directed by Michael Mann, starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard, Public Enemies opens internationally from 1st July 2009.

Play the game.

Thanks to Pam and Marc for letting me know about the game.
