The Big Empty - Selma Blair

This came from Little Blood, or Chris as he is sometimes known:

I came across this short movie, ‘The Big Empty’ starring Selma Blair, Elias
Koteas (You’ll know him when you see him) and Richard Kind (Paul from Spin
City), and a cameo from House himself Hugh Laurie. And one of the co-directors
is Newton Thomas Sigel, Director of Photography on numerous films including
X-Men, The Brothers Grimm, Superman Returns, Leatherheads – also Director of The Usual Suspects, Three Kings, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and the House MD pilot.
IMDB describe the short as ‘A bittersweet tale of Alice, her vagina and the infinite nature of the tundra.’ It sounds weird, and actually it is weird, but very much worth a look. Its funny, very well acted and brilliantly put together. And as usual in Sigels movies the style, lighting, colours and photography make it unusual enough to help bring you into the film – that doesn’t make sense but when you watch it and remember his other movies (especially Three Kings, Fallen, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) you’ll hopefully get what I mean!
