Christmas Shopping followed by Jesse Green + Skazzmatic

Afternoon all,

Yesterday was spent Christmas shopping with the Wife in Chester. It was all Christmassy and misty. A few drinks were drunk in the wonderful Old Harker's Arms and many gifts were bought.

Then the evening was rounded off meeting up with old friends at The Groves to see the legendary Jesse Green (he drummed with Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley don't you know) perform - my mates Neil and Lee played guitar and drums respectively (their pics are below) - in his new band Skazzmatic. It was a great night, and I don't like reggae but the band rocked and I boogied on down. Jesse Green is a great showman and I recommend you see the band if you get the chance.

Hello to everyone who was there including Jinja, Sara, Street Pete, Del, Andy D, Paul, Little Bitch, The Dude and Emma, Rich (who came all the way from Darlington to see the band), Will, Kev (who may be having his first visit to the site today) and all the people with dreadlocks.

Jeff Bridges brilliant photos from the set of Iron Man

I posted some of these back at the start of October in an interview with the Dude about Tr2n, but First Showing have come across a few more over at Jeff Bridges' own site. They are absolutely stunning photos from the set of Iron Man and Stan Winston's workshop. Apparantly Jeff takes some on every film he works on and then does albums for the cast and crew. Lots of photos of Robert Downey Jr and Jon Favreau as well.

I have a big coffee book collection of some of his photos that the wife got me and it is fantastic. I so want a Widelux camera. Have a look at these photos then go on over to his site and check out the rest.

Harmonica stopped play

There probably won't be too many posts this afternoon and this evening as I am off to play for a bit of a jam with Little Bitch, The Dude, Bongo, Street Pete and possibly Jinja or maybe Will.

I'll be making a racket on the harmonica and trying to keep my voice in tune. Hell, I may even have a bash on a tambourine. As alcohol will be consumed as well there may not be many posts tomorrow morning either.

However, normal service will resume over the weekend. Enjoy your Friday as best you can and I'll speak to you soon.

In the meantime here is Darth Vader playing harmonica much better than I ever could (I know it's an old clip, but it does make me chuckle).
